Maha returning to The Riverfront next year
The new location will allow the event to expand, organizers say.
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Maha is returning to its roots — with plans to expand.
The annual summer concert event will relocate to the renovated Heartland of America Park at The Riverfront next year. The event started in that part of the city in 2009 before moving to Stinson Park in Aksarben Village in 2011.
Organizers cited the need for additional space as attendance at the music festival has grown in recent years. The new location will also allow the event to expand further and offer as many as three stages and twice as many vendor booths.
Maha organizers are also anticipating the new accommodations will allow for thousands more to attend next year’s concert, set for July 26-27, 2024. Last year, the two-day festival brought in more than 11,500 visitors. This year, they’re expecting 20,000.

“Maha is all about bringing people together, and we have had so much fun dreaming up how we can do that with even more people in this beautiful new space at Heartland of America Park,” said Rachel Grace, co-director of Maha music festival. “We’re thankful to all our volunteers, artists, collaborators, and community members who have helped us get to this point. We know Big Thief, Turnstile, and all our other 2023 artists will help us close out our time at Aksarben Village this year on a high note.”
Organizers also noted that The Riverfront will provide a better attendance experience, with more parking and accessibility for various transportation options.
This year’s concert will take place July 28-29.
