Officers were initially called to a Speed Mart location just north of 72nd and Maple streets, where crime tape had been placed around a white car. Police told 6 News that a man had been taken by ambulance to Nebraska Medical Center from that scene, but later clarified that the victim was a 20-year-old woman. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
According to the OPD report, she told officers at the gas station that she had been in a nearby parking lot, behind an apartment complex, when two Black men confronted her and demanded money, then shot her.
